The Fireworks – Dream About You

The Fireworks release their new single Dream About You next week. It’s also their first material with new vocalist Beth Arzy (Trembling Blue Stars/Lightning in a Twilight Hour/The Luxembourg Signal). Thankfully the change of singer does not affect the band’s brand of fuzzy, sometimes noisy, indie pop. All three tracks here are corkers but it’s Better Without You Now that stands out for me especially given its retro sound and the joint girl/boy vocals shining throughout. It wouldn’t sound out of place on one of Cherry Red’s recent eighties indie-pop compilations. Get it!

It’s available on 7″ from Opposite Number Records (UK/EU) or Shelflife Records (US)
