Whalo – Sleepy EP

whalosleepThe debut EP from British/Swedish duo Whalo came out in September last year. If, like me, you missed it the first time round you will be happy to hear that it got another release last week on Spanish cassette label Mondo Canapé Records. It mixes indiepop and alt-rock to great effect and there is plenty here (or should that be hear?) to keep you entertained. Highlight is closing track What’s Left For Us Girls that opens with a distorted telephone conversation then builds up to a crescendo of fuzzy, droning guitars that drown out the wispy vocals. Play that one loud……

Pick it up on tape from here or pay what you want to either the label or the band.
